This 21 Day challenge as such an awesome experience! I reached out to friends near and far...friends who are literally down the street, to friends who are in far off lands, like Australia and Dubai! I called friends; wrote letters and cards to friends; sent emails to friends; and did breakfasts, lunches, dinners, coffee breaks and drinks with friends. I reconnected with these friends - through sharing stories, insights, ideas, challenges, tears, laughter, joy, excitement.
Initially I wanted to reconnect with 21 people over the course of 21 days...and, like with many things in my life, I have actually overacheived this goal, and have reached out to, not only the 21 people on my initial list, but another 20 so people who I added along the way :).
I am looking forward to continuing this reconnection over the course of winter and spring...so stay tuned...there may be another goal yet!
To friendship near and far...an Irish blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Thanks for the day campers!
Why were you inspired to do this?
Over the past few months, I have been busy with the concentration of a new job/career...and, as a result, have lost touch and lost track of friends. I want to re-connect with those who I have not chatted with in a long time.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
a list of 21 people that I want to reach out to/reconnect with.
Now...this will be the easier part for sure!
deciding on how I want to communicate with them - by phone, mail, email, facebook, bbm, in person.
time - i know...such a silly thing to think about, but it is amazing how timing is so important...especially when connecting with those who are overseas, or who have small children.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
making the time to reach out each day to at least 1 person on my list. though I would love for all of my communication to be via phone or in person...that may be a little more challenging.
