Why were you inspired to do this?
My Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer. I'm only twenty years old but at the same time I'm already twenty years old. I don't want to wake up one morning when I'm fifty to find out I have brain cancer and look back on my fifty years of life to realize that I didn't live my life to the fullest. I decided that if I could run a marathon, I could do anything. It was the ultimate test to myself to see if I could truly start experience all that life had to offer.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
I convinced one of my roommates to run in the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon 2010 with me. Real proud of him too!
Training throughout an entire semester of college at Michigan State University. A grueling 17 week training program.
Kept reminding myself everyday I didn't want to train why I was doing this and what it really meant to complete it.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
I felt like my life was finally starting. Since then I've been itching to start something else new. And big dreams don't scare me anymore. I'm shooting for the stars and refuse to fall short.
Additional notes and tips:
Sometimes it takes the worst things in your life to bring the best things out. Remember to always plan for today because you can't go back to yesterday and tomorrow is always a day away!
