Why were you inspired to do this?
After releasing my 1st CD in 1995 (self produced) it was time to get back into the studio. I was well known within my own music community, had a bunch of new material and had decided it was time to pursue recording again, but with a professional producer (versus myself).
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
1) I contacted and got a producer to record my songs. Bill Sutton of Bedlam House had the right attitude, was clearly interested and he financed the production of the CD from start to finish.
2) My parents took care my son for 10 days, while I recorded 42 hours in 10 days, in Atlanta, GA at my producer's studio. Bill and Brenda put me up, for that time period as well, which kept expenses low.
3) Bill and I picked a ion of songs, and I prepared day by day, before going to Atlanta in July.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
Absolutely fantastic. It was a great experience. It all began when I had the courage to ask Bill Sutton to produce the CD, and then arranging for my son to stay with my parents.
