Why do you want to do this?

I want to be able to work close to home. When we have a child in the next two years, I want to be able to be close to home once I go back to work. I want to be able to be close by for when my children need me.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

I am applying to be put on the Waterloo Region District School Board Occassional Teacher list. My resume and cover letter are complete, and I am waiting on a recommendation letter from a principal in this board.

I need to successfully complete the interview process, which I know I can do.

I will supply teach 10 days in the new year to guarentee myself eligibilty for LTO's come September 2011.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

Actually being able to get an interview. I have tried three times since graduating from teacher's college and have been unable to secure a supply list interview in Waterloo. I feel that because I am a full time teacher in another board, I am at a disadvantage. I am willing to leave my full time job for a part time position.
