Try Yoga
Sports & Adventure: Fitness

Why do you want to do this?

My principle reason for wanting to try yoga is for flexibility. I have noticed that I'm not nearly as flexible as I used to be! This is disturbing because I used to be able to do the splits. I've started to stretch more frequently but I really need someone who knows what their doing. I had a pretty crazy accident in 2001 and another one in 2007. I'd like to think that they might have something to do with it, and not that I'm just getting older!

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Someone that can teach me. I have done the wii fit yoga, but I can't really say that I've tried it in an actual class setting.

A class that meets my schedule.

The discipline to practice.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

I think the biggest barrier is going to be finding a class that fits my schedule and keeps me interested.

Laird, if you haven't found one yet, I can get you in touch with a yoga instructor who can help you find a practitioner in your area. I worked with her to create the MLL Yoga Journal, which will soon have an MP3 file of the Salty Dog 25-Posture Sequence and her profile on MLL is http://www.mylifelist.org/members/PublicProfile.aspx?PID=25

She is also the owner of www.saltydogyoga.com

I'm still working on yoga as one of my own top goals and it's not easy. I think the best thing to do is

Good luck!

The best thing to do is develop your own sequence of postures -- then you don't have to fit in a class necessarily.

I'll definetly look into that!  Thanks for the help!
