Why do you want to do this?

It's a new year, a great time for everyone to evaluate what they're doing with their lives. I want to let everyone know about My Life List, to raise everyone's game in 2011.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Finish the web upgrades (happening right now and going live today) to make the site easier for members to upload their goals, moments and past success stories, and also easier to share with their friends. Let all of our power users know about the new features and invite them to test it and share it.

Participate in and heavily promote the usefulness and fun of the 21-Day Challenge, which starts in 10 days! And also, to continue to invite users, friends and supporters -- even those who are just curious -- to attend the Life Listers Ball, where we will celebrate the winners of the 21DC as well as all the momentum and success we've had as a company in 2010.

Continue to come up with new ideas for promoting the site, including enlisting the help of friends and inviting famous life listers to participate -- raising the level of inspiration and encouragement for those of us who appreciate the power of mentorship and strive for more.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

It's a big job to let the whole world know who we are and what we're doing! Because there are so few of us on the team, we need all the help we can get. And we'll just keep going until we have a great success story to share.

It's a great goal - and as a relatively new user of this site - I want to say thank you!! Looking forward to having 2011 move my life forward in many positive ways.

Ctrack, you are more than welcome! I hope you find many opportunities for new experiences and inspiring goals to set your sights on here. It's only going to get better and better -- wait and see how connected you're going to get to the community!

And most of all, congratulations. You're focusing on improving the quality of your life and that will be the most powerful thing you could ever do. All that happens from here will be of your choosing. Have a wonderful new year and please share your goals with your friends!

Hey Partner, I think we are on track, once we bed down these enhancements things are going to get busy. I love how live the site feels right now. To a great 2011!

Great Job!  I know this year is going to be fantastic for both of you and for this site.

1/10/2011 6:39:16 PM

Thank you both for this site! I must say I even like it better then facebook! Bcause its about achieving your dreams, not just gossiping about nonsence!

Thank you

woohoo 2011!

SantaCruzin, thank you for such a great compliment! We built the My Life List community with people like you in mind,  who wanted to explore what is possible for their future rather than what they have done and who they've known in the past. You are welcome! Keep My Life List going by sharing with your friends! You need support most of all to be successful with your goals. Best of luck in the 21-Day Challenge!

I love this site and I am so glad I have become a part of it.  I have gotten one friend so far to join as well and I am working on more.  I think everyone can benefit from this site reagardless if there ambitions and goals are big or small.  Great job and I am looking forward to see what everyoone accomplishes in 2011!

Hey Shea, I love how engaged everyone is. So much conversation. I remember the early days and the site was a Ghost town. Now there are so many stories and goals to check in on. I love that Scott got us back with the email updates. I now feel engaged. It was tough not getting notes on how everyone is doing. Big meetings this week. MLL is the place for achievers.

Nicole, we're so glad to have you here! It is so important to focus on the major things, and let go of the small stuff that keeps us unmotivated and negative. It's hard for people to change unless they are ready, and even joining the site is a big step, scary for some! I remember when I joined, I was like, whoa, you want to know what I want to do with my life?!! Too personal. But then I started sharing just a little, and the support I got was overwhelming. It kept me engaged and helped me learn to zone in on where I was and where I was headed. It's been a brilliant experiment for me. Hard to explain to others sometimes, unless they're ready. But keep trying! It's great to share what matters in your life with the people you love and respect. You learn so much more about each other when you have goals in common. Keep working at it!

And Billy, all good in 2011. Meeting one DONE. Hundred more to go!

thanks for your post.  I had a good weekend.  I am finding this week a bit harder as I am not feeling well.  When I'm not fully in my game mode, its just not the same.

Hey Shea, I was just reading your response to Nicole and I must say it too, getting people here is one thing, it seems that for them to begin to use the site for themselves is a whole other game in itself.  I saw evidence of this during the 21 Day Challenge.  There were a bunch of people following my progress and that was fantastic.  There was one response that I made asking people to post a goal on their page because they were all members so we could encourage them too. After that, some people stopped commenting on my goal.  It was kind of interesting actually. People love to look around, but I guess taking the next step to begin to share is a HUGE leap.  Writing about things that are personal is obviously a risk.  I love that this site has provisions that allows for people to engage at the level they're comfortable with.  I still invite absolutely everyone on my Facebook list.  As soon as they are my friend, they get an invite to MyLifeList.

So awesome that you guys won the grant! Congrats!!!

So much has been happening since April, it's hard to even put it all down here, and of all the goals to slip on! We have been working so diligently to make this happen, and now we're nearly there.

In addition to all the great upgrades we've made to the site (hope everyone is loving them as they test and let me know what bugs are lurking around), we are in the final stages of launching Achiever, a print and digital magazine that celebrates the inspiration, resources and support gathered here on the site. We are so proud of the progress the team is making, because we have a lot of help with this big project! So be on the lookout soon for an invitation to preview Achiever, be prepared to (hopefully) be motivated to continue on your goals and share them even more freely.

Thanks for the support! We couldn't do it without this incredibly caring, motivated and patient community.

Hey Shea, I saw this quote and thought of you:

'The big question is whether you are going to be

able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.' - Joseph Campbell

Loving the upgrades.  Loving the site.  The support here for those of us working on our goals is invaluable.  Achiever looks fantastic.  Congrats to you and the team and thanks for all the hard work you do.  Hope all is going well as you pursue this awesome goal.

Andrea, thank you. Your support, as always, means so much as we grow and put more interaction into the site. We want more than anything for people to be able to share their expertise and find the inspiration to experience anything that makes their lives feel more fulfilled.

We are working on the first issue of ACHIEVER Digital now, planning for a December launch and really feeling excited for our future. We're getting a steady influx of new members, which I'm sure you can tell just by the number of new goals and stories in the scroll. It's great to be able to see our efforts paying off, but we know we have a long way to go.  I do wish everyone who was part of last year's 21-Day Challenge would set some new goals ... it was a time when this community really showed what it's all about, and the friendships built were amazing. Sassy, Erik, SantaCruzin, NicholesBliss, Happyrhon, and more, we were so thrilled to be part of your adventures and hope you have more to share.

One thing I love the most about the site: You never lack inspiration. I just read a new member's list, randomly, and found she had a goal that I loved so much, I'm now adding it to MY list. That's how discovery works. When we share our own hopes and thoughts, we do more than control our own futures, we inspire others to do the same. That's the power of social networking used for good!

Let's make some new goals! Bright days ahead across the membership. xo
