Career & Finance: Debt Management
Why do you want to do this?
I hate feeling that I have no control over my finances. I'm living from check to check and have no money put up for emergencies. I would like to buy a home one day (especially while the market is the way it is now) but with my credit being as horrible as it is that will not happen unless I get out of this mess.
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Patience. I have to remember that it took me a while to get into this debt and that it's going to take longer to get out of it.
Faith. Remembering that I can do anything as long as I focus and work hard to acheive my goal is going to be key. It's so easy to get discouraged when people don't see the results that they feel they should (myself included) but I can't give up because if I do I will never get to where I want to be.
Pat myself on the back. Each and every payment that I make will put me closer to my goal and I need to make sure that I remember that. I'm taking it one day at a time.
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
I think my biggest barrier will be dealing with creditors. I think this because there is no way that I can pay each and every one of them at one time. But I'm going to do my best to negotiate and get this taken care of.
