It's really smart to have a good plan! Especially because once children are born, that element of control is pretty much lost. LOL. Enjoy the time you spend planning, and you will know when you're ready. Children are such an awesome experience, from pregnancy to birth, all the way through the years. My daughter is 8 and I couldn't have predicted what an amazing addition to my life she would be. I've never loved anyone more. Good luck!

I absolutely agree with having a basic plan.  And Shea is right, you will know when it's time.  But the one thing I learned was that there is never a "perfect" time.  You'll never think you have "enough" time or money but then when you have a baby, you find out you do.  You just find a way to make it work.  I tried to describe what it means to have kids to my friends who don't and the only way I could describe it is that your heart no longer beats in your own body, it beats in them.  It sounds so hokey, lol, but it's true. I am so happy that you have chosen to do this and I wish you the best of luck! 

Good luck with your planning and practicing too, haha.  This is a fantastic goal.  Children are such a blessing and mine have taught me more in just a few years than I could ever teach them.  Shea and AuntieM offer great advice.  Once your addition joins you, you'll just adjust to fit in the time for everything your family needs and make some changes to accomodate the financing of it all.  For us, it's about prioritizing and putting what matters most first. The fact that you're thinking about it, writing about it and planning for it indicates you'll be a fantastic parent.  Hope you'll keep us posted!
