Why do you want to do this?

I want to find a job where I would have more patient contact and be able to use more of my clinical skills again. I love working with patients, and knowing that I have helped someone. I've tried a few different types of jobs - clinical, administrative, inpatient and outpatient, and I now know what it is I want to do and what I do best.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

re-write my resume to highlight my clincial skills. Work on writing an effective cover letter.

Apply for open positions that are in line with my career goals and network.

Work as a temp for a while if I have to, and dont let anyone discourage me.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

I have been in an administrative position for far too long. Employers may feel that my clinical skills are getting a little "rusty" now, however, I am completely confidant that this is not the case. Working in a clinical positon is what I love and what I do best. I was at my happiest when working in direct patient care. Realize that I may have to take a pay cut. I also need to stop being so nervous during interviews, and improve my interviewing skills.
