Summer is fast approaching and weddings are so exciting. Can you tell us a little about the size of the wedding you're thinking of? Have you started to put some cash away into a wedding fund? Thoughts about a honeymoon at all? I'd love to hear about why Japanese-style? Is it the culture and traditions that you love or is your fiances' background Japanese as well?

Oh yes, summer is realy near, more concrete August. And we have been planning this for months now, but the biggest trouble is financing. I don't know how about Canada, but in Lithuania weddings are realy expensive thing, while we want it to be realy memorable and nice, not just ceremony, but in the end we will go with what we will have :).
Honeymoon...well it will be simple - we already thought about renting a little house for two in the forest near the lake. Very nice place to be alone :). So I guess it will be the best to spend some time away just the two of us :P.
Japanese style... well... Actualy I am a big fan of Anime and Japanese culture aswell. Even my dissetation for finishing my bachelor degree will be about anime fans in Lithuania. So it's kinda symbolic, finish one stage of life (studies) and starting another (marriage) with japanese culture :). Thou neither I, nor my fiance have any japanese background :). I guess it's just what it means to study cultural history and anthropology - to be interested in cultures :). And my fiance is just much interested in technological part of Japan, like for example Subaru cars :D.

Awesome!! Weddings are my favourite events. Everyone is happy and looks so beautiful and it's such a hopeful time for new beginnings. The family and friends all get together and eat and be social and everyone is so full of excitement and anticipation. I'm sure yours will be spectacular. Yes, weddings are very expensive here too, but there are many ways to cut down on costs without diminishing the beauty or the experience. I'm sure you've come up with some creative ideas of your own. There are many sites on the web that offer cost effective alternatives. I studied anthropology too and can appreciate your interest in different cultures and traditions. I was happy we booked our honeymoon at the beginning of the planning stage. When things got stressful close to the big day, we were looking forward to the fantastic getaway after all the festivities and 'navigation of the familial waters' were behind us. Your quite peek-a-boo cottage in the forest sounds heavenly. I hope you'll keep us posted.

Yea, weddings are my favourite too :)... And it has to be special :). I already searched and found a lot of nice tips on lowering the wedding expences :). Still there are things, where you don't want to be cheap - it's for example photographies, I find it the most important thing, while it will last long after all the festivities will be over :). And then it comes everything, that makes us look good in those photos :P. Well, I am sure everything will be ok and I'll definately share my story here in August :). But in the end, the most important thing isn't the wedding, but being with each other :) being with the man I love :).
How long are you married? :)

Hi V, You are absolutely right. As important as the actual event is, nothing is more important than being with your beloved. I've been married for over ten years now. We have four children. It's been an incredible journey for us and I wish you both the most fantastic journey yourselves. I look forward to your updates.

Good luck to you and your family :).

Thank you so much for your kind note. 4 kids is a great number. They are a blessing each one of them. We fast tracked by having twins the third time around. So one girl and three boys all within 3 years and 3 months. Would you prefer girls or boys? We were lucky to have very healthy babies all around, gender was not so important for us.

Well, I always thought, that I want two boys and two girls (and I hope to have twins :)), though in reality I only wish they were healthy and strong :). And I want to have two boyd and two girls, because in my family there is two boys my brothers and me - only girl :)... So I always thought how nice it would be to have a sister...so it's like wishing, that my children wouldn't have to think about it :). But it will be as it will be :). You can't realy choose these kind of things :). For us now it's more important to try as hard as we can, that we could provide our children with satisfying life and that they would be proud of having us as there parents :)... So a long way to go :).

Best of luck to you and your partner. I'm sure you'll both be fantastic parents. Children really do add a whole other dimention to a relationship. There really is little more beautiful sounding than the laughter of your own children. I wish you many years of happiness together with a house full of laughter.
