Change the way I eat meaning cut out or back on fast food. more fruits and veggies please pleaty of water

get enough rest. Also findding the Time between schoolwork and work plus thing around the house.

exercise and hit the gym 3 time a week

not enough support at home

I find doing a 20 minute yoga program right after I get out of bed! I love the company Yoga Zone. All their videos are for beginners. I also walk 40 blocks after dinner. I live in NYC so it;s easy to head out even after dark. Find some way to support yourself and love yourself and ignore everyone else who isn't on board with you being the best you.

How's this goal coming, L2G? I am trying to do this same thing, with minimal success so far, so I'm changing my routine a bit. I have been cooking at home since the beginning of March (no takeout, no restaurants), and that is surely helping because I control the ingredients and portion sizes. What I really need to do is get active but it just keeps SNOWING where we are ... it's the never-ending winter! No wonder I need a mood adjustment, LOL. I did actually get out for a bit of a bike ride this weekend, since we got a warm day. Give us an update, even if you're not finding great sucess all at once. Maybe we can motivate each other? We should get Andrea involved in this conversation, too. She won January's 21-Day Challenge and lost more than 10 pounds during that time. She will have lots of insight for us both, hopefully!

Hello Shea,

It is going to take some time I did get to this weight over night. I am try to cook more at home as well I also have been juicing fruits and veggies. I have this bad habit of check my weight every morning. That sound so great about "we can motivate each other? We should get Andrea involved in this conversation, too. She won January's 21-Day Challenge and lost more than 10 pounds during that time." I did slip today and had spanish food for lunch which was not a Good idea for Portion control.

Hello again L2G.  I'm just checking in on your goal here too.  Congratulations on taking these steps to a healthier you!  It's also great to read that you have a realistic attitude about length of time it takes to make progress with significant weight goals. Some easy tips that really seem to make a huge difference for me:  hydrating and just writing my food down during the day in a food journal.  After the first few days, I can see where I can make improvements with my choices.  Adding that H2O in each day makes a difference too.  Also, I try to avoid the extremes - letting myself get too hungry will lead to blowing the 'smaller portion' goal and becoming too full isn't going to help me reach my goals eaither.  Checking my weight every day was something I used to do too.  If the needle went the right way, it was a great day.  If it went the wrong way though, my kids and hubby didn't have a good day right along with me. So, these days, I weigh twice a week even though it's been suggested to just weigh once.  I'm sorry I didn't find your goal sooner.  I'm following you now though and would love to hear how you're doing.  Oh, here's another thing too... each month I set a monthly 'activity' goal.  Let me know what yours is for May and we still have time to make it the "Miracle Month of May" together.
