Sports & Adventure: Fitness
Why do you want to do this?
I ran a half marathon last year and was happy to do it. Being a varsity athlete made the marathon not too tough to run but what was surprising was the amount of people who didn't think I could do it! My family kept making fun of me and saying that I might need to stop and walk. I knew I could run a half marathon and did. Although, the FULL marathon is a different story. I was so impressed by the people running a full forty two kilometres and I think it is a personal challenge if one day I run a full marathon. I want to prove to myself (and not others) that I can do this.
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Motivation. It takes a lot of motivation and discipline to make it through that amount of kilometres.
Good running shoes. The last thing I want are blisters!
Training schedule. I can't just run a marathon tomorrow. I need to build up my endurance and fitness to run for that long.
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
My biggest barrier is my patience. I would find it hard to train for such long periods of time.
