Why do you want to do this?

I want to do this because i love history and would love to see Rome. The whole of Italy just seems to be such a beautiful country and i want to really experince Italy for real not just the touristy places though i couldn't go and not see them as well! That and well i like the Italien accent and hey i pick them up easy so we'll see what happens next :o)

What three things will you need to make this happen?

I need to learn a little Italian. I've never been to another country before but i can't imagine not going and nt being able to speak at least a little of the language not only to enjoy the experience more but just showing respect.

Need to get a passport. I know this is an obvious one but i'm useless at filling in forms so this probably is going to be a real difficult one for me lol.

Lose weight. Weird one but i used to be a lot healthier untill a string of ops and irrisistable get well chocolate, curse it! But i would like to get like that again so i could enjoy the experience and not pass out walking upo a slope.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

Not ever left home country before and excited but also a little nervous about going to another country.

you are going to LOVE Rome...the history, the culture, the food!  Knowing a little bit of Italian is always a good thing...there are some great books out there, and also, you may want to check your local Meet Up groups to see if there may be conversational Italian groups meeting in your area.

Passport is key!!! And let me tell you, once you start the travelling, it will give you the itch to see more...so if you are a history buff, then your next stop may be Greece or Turkey or even Russia, where there is so much history to absorb and see. And the fact that you live in the UK...there are so many great places to see that are just a boat or plane ride away!

Remember...there is sooo much to see and do in Rome...and that Rome was not built in a day, so be sure to plan out your trip accordingly.  you will want to have at least a 1/2 day at the Vatican...so much to see and learn. My favourite thing to do is to walk through the streets and just take it all in...almost every turn of the corner is yet another amazing wonder to see!

Good luck with achieving this goal...and enjoy!
