Why do you want to do this?

I need to start exercising my financial muscles, and creating an emergency savings fund seems like a good place to start. As of today (6/30) I already have 170$ saved up! My goal is to have at least one month's rent saved and sitting in the bank at any one time. I am saving for other goals too but I plan on not pulling anything out of savings unless I absolutely need to.

What three things will you need to make this happen?

Plan out my budget each month to allow for some of my paycheck to go into savings.

Put any extra income into savings to help boost my cushion.

Don't withdraw any money unless it's a true emergency.

What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?

My biggest challenge is wanting to spend the money I have saved up once it gets past several hundred dollars. I'll have to use my other goals to help keep me on track!!
