Why do you want to do this?
My boyfriend has been learning sign language for six months, and after helping him study for tests, and watching several Deaf culture films, I'm not only intrigued by the language, but drawn in by its beauty. It's gorgeous and poetic, and I'd love to be able to communicate with it.
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Classes. There's a fantastic department for ASL studies at my local community college. I should enroll.
Persistence. Hopefully, as my boyfriend continues in his education, we can help each other out.
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
Money--I'm also trying to get out of debt, so I don't have an extra $300 to enroll at ACC. Hopefully I will by next spring.
