Why do you want to do this?
Would love to spend some time in Ireland and watch the incredible Volvo round-the-world boats finish this amazing feat of sailing.
What three things will you need to make this happen?
Will have to plan to be in Ireland at least July 3-8, though you really need more time than that, two weeks. Need plane tickets and a place to stay. WIll start looking into that shortly.
Will want a press pass so I can cover this amazing event for ACHIEVER readers around the world. Will put together my media request and get it in early. Like now.
Will have to look into what else is going on in and around Galway that time of year, so we don't miss any other opportunities to experience everything we can while we're there.
What is the biggest barrier to your achieving this?
Biggest barriers: Work and money. Will have to schedule my time for the major work initiatives this year allowing for two weeks off in summer. I know it's a long way off now but with so much going on, I want to make sure I'm on top of as much as I can be so we're working ahead and then things will be running smoothly enough to take off in July. (Haven't taken a true vacation since November 2009, ridiculous, I know.) I will also need to start a vacation fund so we have plenty of money when the time comes. Going to commit at least $100 a week, should give me 35 weeks and $3500 when we're ready to go. Will cover airfare, which I will book as soon as I look at rates and get a reasonable price. Those funds I'll have to come up with beforehand. Good to have a plan though!
