I just shot a pistol for the first time ever last night.  Met a friend at a shooting range.  I enjoyed it a lot and it was more beginner-friendly than I was expecting it to be.  I thought people would look at me weird because I didn't know how to load a gun, how to stand, etc. but that wasn't the case at all.  They see a lot of beginners in there.  Anyway, I hope you get to check this one off soon.  I shot a shotgun for the first time ever a few months ago.  That was a completely different kind of experience, because they are so much more powerful and hard to control.

I took my son shotgun shooting last month.  Unfortunately, I didn't get to try.  It was a Boy Scout thing which was really more a competition, so the parents couldn't do it.  They did archery (my favorite), shotgun and rifle.  This month's trip to the range, my husband took him to, so I didn't get to go again.  Maybe next time...

Learning how to handle and use a gun or shotgun can be a learning experience. My husband took me shooting for a date and I loved it. Learning and knowing how to handle, load and clean a gun was good experience. My next goal is to go through hunter's education and a women's gun class.
