1 John 2:8-10 "Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining. He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in the darkness until now. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him."
1 John 4:18-21: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, 'I love God,' and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also."
As you can probably guess, I had just finished reading the book of 1 John. In my opinion, this is one of the hardest commandments to keep, as it is hard to love everyone, even your enemies. I do not hate anyone at the moment, but I do hold a grudge against a person or two. Even though this wouldn't be considered hate, I don't want to go through life being mad at someone forever. This is a goal that I feel that I must complete.
