Why were you inspired to do this?
I have been mentoring and helping other illustrators with beginning their careers. My goal is to fill in the blanks so some illustrators do not have to make the same mistakes like I did. If I inspire and help even 1 illustrator that will be an accomplishment. I believe it is important that talented illustrators see themselves as a business. No more of this "starving artist" stuff.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
I asked for what I wanted.
I saw a need for my book and filled it.
I let go of perfectionism and sent it out to "the unknown" to be judged by strangers.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
Surprised that doing the opposite to what I normally do worked. Who knew? It is an unfair thing I think to hide your skills and talent. Talent and creativity is a vital thing to share. Fear of success can stop you in your tracks. Asking has become somewhat contagious now. It is so easy now it comes automatic!
