Awesome...
My fundraising goal for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K was $250.00. I raised $280.00. Woo-Hoo!!!!!
My running goal was 30 minutes. OK, so I didn't make my time, but I now know that I didn't train properly. Most of my training was treadmill training and since this was a road race and with some hills, I wasn't quite prepared. I did take a couple very small walking breaks. Anyway, my time of 33:41 is just fine, and I'm feeling good about that!
Why were you inspired to do this?
I needed motivation to improve my running. This is my 3rd year participating in this particular race.
After I ran it last year, my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer AND WON!!! It's only from raising money that we've been able to make these advances in medicine.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
Training. I needed to run to improve my run.
Raising money. I did this by emailing friends and family. I also posted my fundraising link on Facebook and MLL.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
Wet!!!! It was a rainy, yucky day!!
Awesome!! I did it anyway, even though it was a rainy, yucky day.
Proud!! I raised more $$ than I set out to.
