Why were you inspired to do this?
The day my mate Charles called me to tell me that he and Laura were getting married was superbowl Sunday. Easy to remember as I was so happy to be asked to be a part of their big day. Charles has been one of my best friends for nearly 10 years so being a part of their wedding was something I was really looking forward to.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
Travel - I needed to book trip to Northern England. Air Canada from LA to Manchester England $600. (Great deal found on www.kayak.com) Getting around in England is very easy on the trains.
What to wear - I needed to make sure my tux still fit..OK it didn't but no worries with a cumberbund, I had the option of not fully buttoning up pants...which worked great.
Book accommodation - A group of us stayed at the River Cottage Gargrave which was a wonderful B&B.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
The wedding was fantastic. It took place in Yorkshire England and there were many events leading up to the big day. Charles' Uncle owns a pub and what a treat that was to have a few pints and dinner in one of the most wonderful pubs in all of England. The wedding day was great, complete with pre-wedding pints in pub, great singing of hymms in the old church, Pims at the Reception, much fun at Table # 9 and of course great wedding dancing by all. Special thanks and much love to Charles' and Laura.. and remember Life is better shared!
Additional notes and tips:
If you ever get a chance to get to Yorkshire England be sure to visit Charles' Uncles Pub. When you get there ask for David and tell him Bill sent you and if you're lucky you may get a Yorkshire joke, or two. http://www.craven-cruckbarn.co.uk/
