Why were you inspired to do this?
I wanted to share my story of how I came to be a Life Coach to let others know that I have not had the answer to what makes me truly happy until recently. By persevering and not giving up did I find my calling. I believe to live and work an authentic life is the most important goal we will ever undertake.
What were 3 things you did to make this happen?
To write down the truth of who I am and the decisions that I made along the way without apologies or shame. It is what is and now I am proud of how far I've come.
To first risk sharing my whole written story with a few of my Life Coach peers. This is the whole messy truth of who I am and I shared some very personal information to just let it go with safe people I trust.
To streamline this story for clients and not share ALL of the details of who I am. I have chosen to share with clients the more important job/career related details. I created this pared down client version last night and I am proud of this accomplishment.
How did you feel once you had accomplished this?
I was my biggest barrier; I was dragging my feet in writing down first my peer story and then again for the client version. I needed to do some more forgiveness on myself and to be more accepting of the whole person I am. I REALLY took in the saying "You are not defined by your mistakes" and I've learned again how to reframe this into: Mistakes are how we learn to do something in a new way.
